Answered by mr W last updated on 02/Nov/21

y_1 −y_2 =ax^2 −ax−2a=a(x^2 −x−2) Δ=a^2 +8a^2 =9a^2 S=((9a^2 (√(9a^2 )))/(6a^2 ))=4.5a ⇒no S_(min) exists!

$${y}_{\mathrm{1}} −{y}_{\mathrm{2}} ={ax}^{\mathrm{2}} −{ax}−\mathrm{2}{a}={a}\left({x}^{\mathrm{2}} −{x}−\mathrm{2}\right) \\ $$$$\Delta={a}^{\mathrm{2}} +\mathrm{8}{a}^{\mathrm{2}} =\mathrm{9}{a}^{\mathrm{2}} \\ $$$${S}=\frac{\mathrm{9}{a}^{\mathrm{2}} \sqrt{\mathrm{9}{a}^{\mathrm{2}} }}{\mathrm{6}{a}^{\mathrm{2}} }=\mathrm{4}.\mathrm{5}{a} \\ $$$$\Rightarrow{no}\:{S}_{{min}} \:{exists}! \\ $$
